Pro-Trump rally, march held at Missouri capitol

Hundreds of people showed up Saturday afternoon to show their support for President Donald Trump. The group, which included families and children, held a rally and marched around the Capitol building. Many said their aim was to show the president they support him now more than ever.

“I don’t think there is enough support for Trump being shown in the news, in the media,” Frank Daughtery said.

After saying a prayer and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, the group marched around the Capitol while holding signs and chanting.

“I thought it was mandatory that each and every one of us, stand up for Trump, President Trump,” one supporter said.

Some supporters said they believe Trump will help America become a world leader again.

“We need to compete with other nations around the world,” one supporter said. “We can’t be last behind, we can’t be a third or fourth world country.”

“We need a great change in America, we need a change of direction, and he is that change,” Kristi Nichols said.

“We thought the country was going the wrong way and we have some hope now,” Rose Smith said. Smith and her husband brought their granddaughters to the event. “We like what he’s doing and we hope he continues to do what he says.”

There were only two anti-Trump protesters who stood nearby holding a sign that read “an injury to one is an injury to all.”
