Outdoor Burning Discouraged Wednesday

Winds will start to shift overnight becoming southerly by midnight for those west of US63. A southwest wind on Wednesday will bring a possible record high again at 77, and an elevated fire risk for those mainly north of I-70 and west of US63. Outdoor burning is discouraged for all of Mid-Missouri on Wednesday. The rain that we’ve picked up from Monday and into Tuesday morning has helped, but coupled with warm temperatures again Wednesday and gusty southwest winds, rapid fire growth is possible tomorrow.

By 9AM areas near HWY 65 and near HWY 24 could be seeing winds already gusting at 22 mph and upwards to 25 mph during the day. By 4PM in the afternoon winds look to become lighter, which should be the trend Wednesday night. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
