Much Needed Rain for Monday
TODAY: The abnormally warm weather continues here in Mid-Missouri, as temperatures make a run into the 70s. The only limiting factor to how warm we’ll get is a line of showers and storms that will sweep through the area through the day today. A brief spurt of showers is falling across Boone, Howard, Cooper, and Randolph county this afternoon. These showers will fizzle out as they drift east through the day. The main line is still off to our east and will arrive near the Hwy 63 corridor as we head into the 2-3 PM timeframe. Noe severe weather is expected today, but some isolated thunderstorms are possible by late afternoon into the early evening hours. Rainfall amounts will not be entirely impressive, but most locations look to top out near .25″ of rain, with heavier amounts, closer to an inch, as you shift north.
TONIGHT: Rain will tapers off for those east of US 63 tonight winds will shift becoming northwesterly after midnight. Patchy fog looks possible with light winds and high dewpoints, with temperatures in the upper 40s, to low 50s.
EXTENDED: After morning clouds on Tuesday, sunshine returns on Tuesday afternoon with once again highs in the low 70s. The mild weather lasts through most of next week. Another rain chance does exist for Thursday and increasing towards Friday. The upcoming weekend looks to be more seasonal with temperatures returning to normal in the mid 40s by Saturday and Sunday. We’ll need to keep an eye for possible winter weather returning on Sunday afternoon. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
