Saturday morning, February 18

TODAY: There will be mostly cloudy skies in the morning south of I-70 with a chance for sprinkles until noon for those closer to I-44. Most areas will have partly to mostly sunny skies and high temperatures near 70. We will be close to tying the record high of 71 Saturday which was set back in 1930. Winds will be under 10 mph from the southwest. Considering the dry terrain due to drought conditions and fairly low humidity, it is still not a good idea to do outdoor burning this weekend. By tonight, temperatures will dip to the mid 50s under mostly clear skies.

SUNDAY: Another pleasant day is expected for Sunday as the morning will start of mostly sunny with temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Clouds will increase in our afternoon skies, but that is not going to stop our high temperature from reaching into the mid 70s. This gives us another chance to break the record high of 76 degrees set in 1930.

EXTENDED: By early Monday morning, the next chance for rain moves into Mid-Missouri. Areas west of US 63 look to have the better chance for rain with isolated t-storms possible. By Monday evening and into Tuesday morning, the rain moves off to the east giving areas east of I-44 the better chance for rain. The mild weather lasts through most of next week but the weather pattern looks like it will change toward the end of February as cooler air moves in by next Friday and weekend.
