Highway Patrol joins Moberly homicide investigation

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is joining an active homicide investigation in Randolph County, north of Columbia.

On Tuesday, ABC 17 News confirmed the Highway Patrol’s Drug and Crime control is involved in the case.

Police officers responded to a fight and shooting on Feb. 2 in the 1000 block of South William Street in Moberly.

Christopher James, 54, was taken to the Moberly Regional Medical Center, where he died.

The Moberly Police Department told ABC 17 News they have spoken to several persons of interest, but haven’t made any arrests or identified a suspect.
