Attempted armed robbery reported at Kilgore’s

Columbia police responded Monday morning to an attempted armed robbery at 1608 Chapel Hill Road.

Police said a man entered Kilgore’s Medical Pharmacy around 11:45 a.m. with a handgun and attempted to steal narcotics.

Officers said the man was unable to steal the drugs and fled the scene headed toward Forum Boulevard.

Police said there were no injuries or property damage.

The man was described as a white male in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build, according to police.

Some employees of nearby businesses said that they are worried for their safety and their customers’ safety. They also said that they are afraid of losing business because this incident was not the first.

The pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint less than six months ago in August, according to online police reports.

Police said a suspect was never arrested for that case.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
