UM Board of Curators approve architect for South End Zone project
COLUMBIA- The UM Board of Curators approved the architect for Memorial Stadium’s south end zone project by a 5-1 vote on Thursday. Populous Inc. out of Kansas City will be the designer for the project.
The cost of the architect will be $4.31 million and will be paid with private gifts, according to the meeting’s agenda.
The renovation is expected to cost $96.7 million with the hope the facility will be ready by the 2019 season. It will include 5,288 seats, premium seating and a state-of-the-art team facility for the Mizzou Football team.
The project as a whole has still yet to be approved by the Board of Curators. Once the design is complete, the Board will vote to approve the final project, which could come during a meeting as soon as this summer.
