Standoff cleared at Columbia Square Apartments

UPDATE, 11:57 p.m.: Police confirmed the standoff was over and one person was taken into custody.

ORIGINAL: Multiple police officers were on the scene at Columbia Square Apartments for a standoff Wednesday night.

Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer with the Columbia Police Department said street crime detectives were looking for a wanted man in the 1000 block of Claudell Lane.

They saw the man enter a residence and tried to contact him, but he refused to come out.

Officer Stroer said the man had a “no bond” warrant, but could not go into detail about what it was for.

9-10 police cars were on scene just before 9:40 p.m.
