High fire danger Friday; windy, dry conditions
A Fire Weather Watch is in effect from 9 AM to 6 PM Friday. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
Southwesterly winds will quickly increase Friday morning, sustained near 20 mph and gusting to 30 mph at times as temperatures rise. Relative humidity will drop down to 30% by noon and to near 20% by 3 PM in the watch area. Also, very dry fuels exist due to abnormally dry conditions which have been developing in past weeks.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and outdoor burning should be avoided Friday. Winds will diminish Friday evening as humidity rises and fire weather conditions will improve. Winds are expected to stay under 10 mph Saturday with higher humidity.
