Columbia man shoots through door, deputies find marijuana plants
Deputies with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 4700 block of Eastview Drive for reports of gunshots around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies said that 21-year-old Joel Sandhu went to the address above to talk to a person he believed stole from him. When the person refused to open the door, Sandhu shot through the door with a handgun.
The resident was not injured.
Deputies said that they then served a search warrant for Sandhu’s residence in the 200 block of Ash Street.
Deputies said they found several small marijuana plants in Sandhu’s home.
Sandhu was arrested on charges of armed criminal action, assault in the second degree, property damage in the second degree and manufacture of a controlled substance.
