Rain chances and drastic temperature changes all by midweek

Rounding out the weekend into the start of the week temperatures are going to be above average. Sunday high temperatures will be climbing into the mid 50s. We will continue to see these temperatures increase throughout the beginning of the week.

Monday a warm front will be pushed northward over central Missouri. This will help temperatures reach near 60 degrees for the start of the work week. This frontal boundary will provide moisture to mid-Missouri, which will aid in the development of some rain showers Monday into Tuesday.

During the morning hours on Monday, we only expect a 30% chance of showers, which will most likely be limited to drizzle. Throughout the day on Monday, as the atmosphere becomes more moist, we will see a greater chance of rain Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Accumulations with this system are looking light. Some areas in mid-Missouri will only see up to one tenth of an inch.

Tuesday will continue to be above average temperature wise. Temperatures are expected to break into the 60s. The warm weather comes to an end Tuesday evening with a strong passing cold front. Temperatures will plummet to the mid 20s by Wednesday morning. This will move in a much drier and colder air mass from the northwest. High temperatures for Wednesday will be below average at 36 degrees. Luckily, by next weekend, temperatures will begin to rebound back into the 50s.
