Woman accused of stealing car from Fire Protection District employee

A woman is in the Boone County Jail after authorities said she walked into the Boone County Fire Protection District on Prathersville Road and stole car keys.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said the victim claims Jennifer Switzer walked in, took car keys and walked out, and then took the vehicle.

Deputies responded shortly afterward to the 9600 block of Route O on a report of a vehicle collision.

Deputies said the vehicle involved in the crash was the one reported stolen.

Switzer admitted that she had stolen the car and was arrested, authorities said.

She was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, property damage and trespassing.

Switzer is being held in the Boone County Jail on a more than $10,000 bond.
