Driver identified in fatal crash on I-70 eastbound

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the driver killed in a crash near Kingdom City.

Bonnie Pierce, 51, died in a two-car crash near mile marker 145 on I-70 eastbound.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pierce was traveling westbound on I-70 when she began to skid traveling off to the left side of the roadway. She struck median cables and continued through them causing her to enter into the eastbound lane.

Pierce’s car hit a truck head-on, and she was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the truck, Charles Sherrow, 21, suffered minor injuries.

This is Troop F’s first fatality in February and 10th of the year.

ORIGINAL: Sgt. Scott White has confirmed that there has been a fatal car crash near Kingdom City.

The crash happened on I-70 eastbound around 3:51 p.m. near the 145 mile marker. Troopers are still on the scene and they’re working to notify the next of kin.

The troopers are also working to determine the cause of the crash.
