Columbia man charged in Vandiver home invasion
A Boone County prosecutor filed charges Thursday against James Fernando Webb, 23, of Columbia, in connection to an armed home invasion that sent one woman to the hospital.
Webb is now charged with three county of first degree robbery and first degree assault in connection to the incident.
According to a probable cause statement, Columbia Police officers interviewed several people who were inside the home in the 1100 block of Vandiver Drive during the incident on Jan. 27.
One victim told police she recognized Webb because he was dating her friend. She told police Webb held a gun at her and told her to get on the floor. The victim said Webb also forced her and another person inside the home to help him break into another room.
Court documents said the victim identified Webb in a photo lineup claiming he was the one who shot her and forced her to the ground.
James posted a $20,000 bond on Jan. 23 for an unlawful possession of a weapon charge. He also posted a $18,000 bond that same day for forgery charges. He was charged on Dec. 31 for allegedly duplicating checks in his Columbia apartment and depositing them at banks.
