Wednesday, February 1 Afternoon Weather
TODAY: After a cloudy start to the morning, we’ll see some thinning clouds through the rest of the day. Temperatures will be slightly above average for the day, as highs top out in the mid 40s. Winds through the day will remain out of the north under 10 mph. It’s these winds that will funnel in the cold Canadian air that we’ll see through the end of the week.
TONIGHT: A north wind continues tonight with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will fall to the 20s by 11PM-12AM, and low 20s by early Thursday morning. Wind chill values through the night into the morning will be in the mid to upper teens across a good portion of the region, as winds will be out of the north under 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Friday looks to be even colder with a northeast wind and a wind chill near 15-19 again early Friday morning. During the day Saturday, much of the area looks to be dry. By evening west of US 63 rain and drizzle is expected. Less than .20″ is likely for most areas. There is a slight chance for some of the rain to refreeze overnight into Sunday morning as the air temperature falls to 30-32 in spots. Any rain looks to end before daybreak on Sunday, but we’ll want to watch for slick areas. Temperatures will warm to near 50 on Sunday with clouds decreasing during the day. We will be tracking this throughout the week giving you the latest details as we get new information. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
