Man arrested in Camden County after attempted home burglaries

A man was arrested by Camden County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday afternoon after he was accused of trying to break into a pair of homes and a vehicle.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office said it took the man into custody after deputies responded to a home on Ruby Lane in Montreal, Missouri, around 3:30 p.m.

A woman told 9-1-1 operators that the man was attempting break into her home, while she was inside. After failing to get inside, the woman then told communications the suspect walked to a neighbor’s home and tried to break into that residence.

Deputies said no one was home at the time.

The man then returned to the woman’s home and tried to get inside her vehicle. After the suspect wasn’t able to break into the car, he once again attempted to get into the woman’s home.

A black 2002 BMW driven by the suspect was registered to a Springfield resident and not the man.

The car was not reported stolen at the time of the suspect’s arrest. Responding deputies were able to take the man into custody without incident.

Deputies transported the man to the Camden County Jail, where he is being held on an existing parole violation warrant for felony assault.

ABC 17 News will update this story once the suspect is identified and if charges are filed.
