Hickman High School placed on modified lockdown

Hickman High School was placed on a brief modified lockdown Wednesday afternoon.

According to Columbia Public Schools, the situation only lasted about 10 minutes and involved in a police investigation in the area that did not involve school district property.

The Columbia Police Department told ABC 17 that officers were dispatched to a reported verbal disturbance with a gun in the 800 block of North Providence at 3:01 p.m. Officers checked the area and found no disturbance. They cleared the area with no report.
