Update: Mesa apartment fire considered arson

Boone County Fire Protection District has confirmed that the apartment fire that happened on Mesa Drive in November is being considered an arson.

Back in November, the fire was originally being investigated as suspicious.

ABC 17 News reached out to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and no arrests have been made. The Sheriff’s Department currently has a person of interest, but the person is unable to be located for questioning.

Fire officials were called to the structure fire at the 4300 block of Mesa Drive. According to the Fire Department, the fire started in one of the ground floor apartments of the quadplex.

No one was inside the apartment at the time of the fire, but the apartment is considered a total loss.
