Greitens to announce budget plan Thursday

Three weeks after taking office, Republican Gov. Eric Greitens said he will unveil his budget plan Thursday at an early childhood center in Nixa, Missouri.

Greitens made the announcement on social media.

“Our state’s budget affects real people,” Greitens said. “We take that responsibility seriously. It’s our job to decide how to distribute the money that comes in, and the truth is, less money is coming in. More and more of it is automatically put towards things like insider tax credits and costly healthcare spending.”

In the social media post, Greitens mentioned “more jobs, higher pay, safer streets, and better schools,” hinting at notable budget items that may be included.

ABC 17 News will have have the full details of the 2018 proposed budget on air and online.
