Thursday January 19 Morning Weather

TODAY: Rain and some thunder is lifting north this morning and will continue for the morning commute for those east of US 63 ending through 11AM. The greatest chance for rain and fog is this morning. There is a chance for drizzle in the afternoon. Areas north of I-70 could see a few additional showers develop, but the confidence is lower. Temperatures will struggle to climb near 50, thanks to the rain that will be seen. Columbia can expect to see up to .25″ of rain, with areas down near HWY 54 and east up to .50″.

TONIGHT: Winds will be calm with temperatures in the low 40s. Fog is likely to develop overnight with a cloudy sky continuing.

EXTENDED: Friday through much of Saturday looks dry before rain increases on Sunday. A warm front lifts again by Friday evening bringing a chance for scattered showers mainly north of I-70 from 6PM-11PM. These will be hit and miss. Rain increases for Sunday starting up in the morning, possibly bringing moderate to heavy rain on Sunday afternoon and evening, but this looks to be in southern Mid-Missouri. From I-70 and south less than 0.20″ is expected. Closer to the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44, 0.50″ to 0.75″ looks possible at this time. Conditions of course will change, so check back with @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter for additional updates.
