One in custody after chase overnight stretching two counties

Jefferson City police say they have a woman in custody after a chase overnight that started in Jefferson City and ended in Callaway County.

Police tell ABC 17 News that an officer saw a woman driving a vehicle around midnight who they knew to have a felony warrant for a probation violation. The officer apparently tried to pull the driver over, but she refused to stop.

That’s when the chase started.

Officers say it ended in the 1100 block of Wood Lane in Callaway County when the vehicle got stuck in the grass. police were then able to take the woman into custody.

Police say they arrested the woman on suspicion of several traffic violations and for the felony warrant. A male passenger in the vehicle was not detained.

Officers did not tell ABC 17 News the name of the woman in custody, but advised we call back later for that information.

No one was hurt in the chase.
