No one hurt, home damaged in Boone County house fire

UPDATE 7:06 a.m: Firefighters have cleared the scene.

They say it originated in a car in the garage, the fire did reach the attic and did spread throughout the house.

There is smoke and water damage done to the inside of the house.

There was one dog who lived inside the residence but was able to make it out safely.

One firefighter estimates $300,000 worth of damage.

Firefighters are still investigating the exact cause of the fire.

ORIGINAL STORY: Firefighters tell ABC17 News, they responded to a structure fire around 1:45 a.m. on Fall Creek Road just off of Brown Station Road.

Firefighters say it started in the garage.

They worked to put out the fire in the garage as well as flames that were showing in the attic.

They were trying to prevent the fire spreading throughout the rest of the residence.

One man was home at the time of the fire and was able to get out.

Firefighters are still working to find the cause of the fire.
