Jonesburg school under boil order

Water main repairs in Jonesburg earlier this week resulted in a boil order being issued for the city’s elementary school.

Montgomery County R-II School District Superintendent Michael Gray said Jonesburg Elementary School was under the order for Thursday and Friday.

Gray told ABC 17 News that parents were notified about the situation on Wednesday.

The school’s food service provider is giving students bottled water. Any water used in food preparation is being boiled before use.

Parents of students can also send water with their child to school.

The city has completed repairs on the water main and is waiting for clearance from the Department of Natural Resources before lifting the boil order.

ABC 17 News will update this story once the boil order is lifted for Jonesburg Elementary.
