Fog and rain could impact Monday morning commute, ice threat over
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for those who live along and east of US 63 through 10am.
It is set to expire at 8am for those south of the Missouri River.
Visibility was near 1/2 mile in Columbia Monday morning and the ground was wet from rain.
Meanwhile, our ABC 17 Stormtrack meteorologists say more rain moving in. They say by 7am-11am Monday, we can expect moderate to heavy rainfall. Mid-Missouri can expect light rain to continue through the afternoon and evening.
The rain and fog could make the morning commute a little slower for some drivers, however ice is not an issue Monday.
Temperatures have warmed up to above freezing and our ABC 17 Stormtrack meteorologists say they will remain aboce freezing today.
One mid-Missouri school did cancel classes Monday due to some remaining slick roads. Higbee R-VIII cancelled class around 5:00am Monday saying some gravel roads remain slick in the area. School officials say they had planned on using Monday as a make up day, even though most schools are off for the Martin Luther King, Jr. day holiday.
