Tuesday Afternoon, January 10

TODAY: It’s unseasonably mild today with temperatures nearly 30 degrees above normal. After a chance of morning drizzle, and brief showers to those north of I-70, skies will stay mostly cloudy and it will be breezy and mild with high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 60s with west to southwesterly winds at 15-20 mph gusting to 40-50 mph.

TONIGHT: Clouds break this evening and it looks to be mostly clear briefly for a few hours overnight before clouds work their way back in by daybreak on Wednesday morning. Lows overnight will stay well above normal again in the mid 30s, while southerly winds become more calm under 12 mph.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably warm, reaching the low 60s on Wednesday. Another cold front will bring a chance for rain on Wednesday night and Thursday morning mainly to those north of I-70 where 0.25″ is possible. As colder air moves in, temperatures will fall from the 50s in the early morning Thursday to the 30s by evening. It will be much colder Friday, staying below freezing with a chance of light snow changing to a wintry mix by evening. Sleet and freezing rain is possible through Saturday with a wintry mix and rain possible Sunday and Monday of next week.
