Thursday Afternoon, December 5
TODAY: The snow is coming to an end across Mid-Missouri, but not before a last band of flakes works it’s way out of the northwest. This band is currently draped along the I-70 corridor and will continue to track south. This will add to the already accumulating snowfall, brining many locations near the 2-3″ mark. Once this band exits, the afternoon will be dry with clouds breaking up. Wind chills will stay in the single digits, dropping as low as 5 below zero by Friday morning.
TONIGHT: A reinforcement of arctic air settles in tonight and Friday, keeping high temperatures in the upper teens Friday and single digit wind chills.
EXTENDED: Although we warm slightly this weekend, we will still be below freezing through Sunday before a shift in the weather pattern sends warmer air in for the start of next week. A south wind kicks in by Monday which could end up being a breezy day before rain returns Monday night and into Tuesday morning of next week.
