Thursday Evening, January 4

TONIGHT: Light snow will continue into the early morning hours and taper off. Total snowfall of 2-3 inches is expected along and north of I-70 decreasing to an inch near I-44. Lows will drop into the mid to upper teens with northerly winds to 8 mph, producing wind chills in the single digits.

THURSDAY: Snow will taper off through the morning, ending by mid-morning. It will be very cold and mostly cloudy with high temperatures near 20. A northerly breeze up to 10 mph will generate wind chills of 8-12 through the afternoon.

EXTENDED: Friday morning will be dry but bitterly cold with low temperatures 5-9 degrees. Wind chills will start off at 4-8 below zero and stay in the single digits as high temperatures only reach the upper teens under partly cloudy skies. We’ll stay below freezing through Sunday with nights in the teens and days in the upper 20s before warming above freezing on Monday. It looks dry from Thursday afternoon through the weekend.
