Governor-Elect Greitens names new DPS Director

Governor-elect Eric Greitens has named the next Director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

Drew Juden is currently the Police Chief in Sikeston, and has been chosen to head the department. St. Louis Fire Captain Greg Favre was appointed as Deputy Director.

Juden is a former president of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association, and is also a former SWAT commander. Favre is a Firehouse Heroism Award winner, and a 2008 graduate of the University of Central Missouri.

During the announcement, Greitens again voiced his support of implementing a ‘Blue Alert’ system in the state. That system, similar to an ‘Amber Alert’, would alert Missouri residents whenever law enforcement officers are under a threat.
