Mid-Missouri firefighters respond to several fires Friday

Mid-Missouri firefighters respond to at least three fires over the course of Friday afternoon.

At least four units were dispatched to an outside fire shortly before 6 p.m. off Highway HH and Log Cabin Road, just outside of Fulton. ABC 17 News saw at least one building possibly threatened by the brush fire. Emergency crews at the scene said it had burned three or four acres.

A cause hasn’t been released and there are no reports of injuries.

Crews also responded to another outside fire in Callaway County just before 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Several acres were destroyed off Highway AA near Holts Summit. Firefighters said several people in the area told them they weren’t burning anything at the time of the fire.

No injuries or a cause were reported.

The Mexico Department of Public Safety shared a third reported fire on their Facebook page.

It said a home located on Harwood Street, just off of West Liberty Street, caught fire just before 2:30 p.m. Fire investigators found minor smoke and fire damage to the home’s siding and to a structure on the porch.

No one was hurt in the fire. A cause hasn’t been released.

ABC 17 News will update this story once we know more about what caused these mid-Missouri fires.
