Saturday Evening, December 31

TONIGHT: A mild day in mid-Missouri, will lead to a cold, but dry night. Temperatures will be dropping below the freezing mark. Winds around 7-10 mph will transition from SW to N by this evening as a dry cold front passes through Mid-Missouri. Conditions by the stroke of midnight will be mostly clear and chilly in the upper 20s. Grab that coat as you head out to celebrate the New Year!

SUNDAY: Saturday and Sunday are almost copycat forecasts. The high temperature will reside in the upper 40s under mostly sunny skies to start out the first day of the New Year. Winds will be light out of the SE around 5-7 mph. The only difference is the slight rain chance that makes its way into Mid-Missouri by late Sunday night.

EXTENDED: With moisture moving in Sunday night, this will increase the rain chance Monday morning as temperatures warm to the mid-upper 50s. Models show Mid-Missouri receiving around 0.1″-0.25″. Areas near the Lake of the Ozarks may see slightly less amounts. Our next arctic blast hits Tuesday with falling temperatures and a slight chance of morning rain. Bitterly cold air will move in by next Wednesday with daytime highs below freezing, only reaching into the 20s and lower teens at night. There is a slight chance of light snow Thursday.
