Columbia man wanted on felony warrant, arrested
On Thursday afternoon, the Columbia Police Department arrested Tyler Thomas after having a felony warrant out for his arrest.
ABC17 previously reported a home invasion robbery in the 3100 block of Rock Quarry Road on December 12.
When police were called to investigate the armed robbery in Thomas’ home, they obtained a search warrant to search the house.
In Thomas’ room, police found over $30,000 in cash and 13 pounds of marijuana.
A felony warrant was put out for Thomas.
Thursday morning, a Vice Narcotics Organized Crimes Detective was on Commercial Drive when he noticed Thomas’ exit a residence with a box in his hand.
Street Crime Detectives attempted to pull over Thomas, Thomas refused to step out of the vehicle.
Thomas was eventually arrested.
Detectives searched Thomas and found a baggie of cocaine.
Detectives also located $8,000 in cash and a handful of prescription pills.
The box the Narcotics detective observed Thomas carry was an unopened large vacuumed sealed bag or marijuana. They also located a rifle, bullets and a magazine for a rifle.
Thomas was arrested on suspicion of: Distribution/Delivery/Manufacturing/Produce a Controlled Substance. Unlawful use of a weapon Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture/Produce/Controlled Substance Possession of a Controlled Substance Felony Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest Felony Felony Warrant for Dangerous Drugs
