New trial date set for 2015 rape case on MU campus

One month after a jury declared a mistrial in a 2015 rape case near University Hall, a judge has assigned a new trial date for Mohamed Mostafa.

Mostafa is accused of raping and robbing a woman on MU’s campus in May 2015. On Nov. 19, a jury announced it was unable to reach a verdict on the case.

A new trial has been set for Mar. 3 in Boone County court. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Feb. 27.

Mostafa has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and 2nd degree robbery.
