U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt visits Columbia

U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt paid a visit to the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia Tuesday.

The Republican senator from Missouri toured the building and talked to local leaders about poverty and his strategy to create jobs.

Blunt also commented on the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, only three weeks away.

“The new president has had several weeks to think about what it really means to be president as had the new governor,” Blunt said. “I have confidence they’re both going to make a difference in the jobs they’re going to have.”

Eric Greitens is scheduled to be inaugurated Jan. 9 in Jefferson City.

President-elect Trump’s inauguration is set for Jan 20.
