Woman arrested after chase in Maries County

The Maries County Sheriff’s Department said deputies arrested a woman after a short chase Sunday morning.

The department said Savanah Kubesh didn’t stop when deputies tried to pull her over. The chase started on Highway 52 near Meta. Deputies said Kubesh turned on to County Road 201, got out of the car and ran into the woods.

She was eventually taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

According to the department, Kubesh is wanted out of Osage County for resisting arrest, driving while suspended and drug possession.

She’s currently being held in the Osage County Jail without bond.
