Change of venue granted for man charged in trooper’s death

The case involving the death of a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper has been transferred to St. Charles County.

The move for Serghei Comerzan was granted Tuesday. He’s charged in the death of Trooper James Bava.

In August 2015, Bava was allegedly chasing Comerzan, who was riding a motorcycle, in Audrain County when he crashed.

Judge Ted C. House was assigned to the case earlier this month.
