Mid-Missouri set to get relief from Arctic air by midweek

This weekend has been dominated by winter weather. Everything from freezing rain, ice, snow, and Arctic temperatures has impacted all of mid-Missouri. However, there is good news. For the first day of the work week temperatures will remain below freezing, but relief is in sight.

Following this second blast of Arctic air, more moderate and seasonable temperatures will work their way into mid-Missouri by the middle of the week. Daytime highs will begin to rebound above freezing by Tuesday, even reaching into the 40s for Wednesday and for the remainder of the week. These temperatures will be hovering right around the seasonal average, but may be feeling unseasonably warm when compared to this weekend’s winter weather.

Southerly flow will aid in pumping in warmer temperatures through much of the United States. With these warm temperatures, any leftover snow and ice on the road will melt in no time!
