One killed in Morgan County crash

A Kansas City man died after crashing in Morgan County just before 11:30 a.m. Friday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened when Law Rector, Jr., 84, traveled off the right side of Highway 135. He then attempted to steer the vehicle back on the road, but overcorrected.

His vehicle slid off the left side of the road, striking a fence and tree before stopping near Peter Pan Drive.

Rector was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.

This is Troop F’s 10th December fatality.
