Remains found in Miller county identified

Miller County authorities have confirmed that the remains found in Miller County on Nov. 22 belonged to 54 -year-old Ricky Wierman. The remains were identified using a dental comparison.

Wierman was reported missing in July of 2012. Evidence that was found with the remains pointed to signs that Wierman was living in the woods. No cause of death has been confirmed, but foul play is not suspected.

The University of Missouri Anthropology department assisted the Miller County Sheriff’s office with the investigation.
