Final recommendations of Parking and Traffic Management task force will be discussed Dec. 14
The Parking and Traffic Management task force, that the Columbia City Council appointed in June, will discuss their final recommendations Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. One item on their report suggests the city council to appoint a permanent Parking and Traffic Management commission.
Cindy Neagle, representative of the East Campus Neighborhood Association, drafted recommendations for the neighborhood subcommittee.
The report said the commission should create fair and effective residential parking permit programs in neighborhoods near downtown and Mizzou. The RPPP would allow the people who live in those areas to safely park at or near their homes.
Katherine Lee, representative of the Public Transit Advisory commission, drafted the recommendations for the transportation demand management subcommittee.
One of the recommendations in Lee’s report said residential development and redevelopment in the Mizzou and downtown district should provide one-quarter parking space per bedroom.
ABC 17 News will be attending the meeting at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, conference room 1A, to find out the results of the recommendations.
