Police investigate after pedestrian struck by car

UPDATE 9:45 P.M.: Police have cleared the scene on Range Line. Officers tell ABC 17 News it doesn’t appear that drugs, alcohol or speed played a factor in the crash.

The woman who was hit was taken to the hospital with moderate, but non-life threatening injuries.

ORIGINAL: Columbia police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian Thursday night.

The incident happened in the 1400 block of Range Line Street before 8 p.m.

Officers at the scene tell ABC 17 News a teenage driver was headed south on Range Line and struck a person crossing the street.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

ABC 17 crews on scene saw the CPD Accident Investigation Unit and DWI unit on scene.
