Change of venue granted in Miller County assault case

A Miller County judge has granted a change of venue request for a man accused of assaulting a 5-month-old girl.

Aaron Fisher’s trial will move from Miller County to Laclede County. Fisher was charged in November with one county of felony first-degree assault in Miller County.

The judge denied a request to lower Fisher’s bond from $100,000 to $25,000.

According to Miller County deputies, Fisher punched the infant in the head in October 2009.

Last October, a judge dismissed two counts of forcible sodomy against Fisher. The judge ruled that Fisher’s right to a speedy trial was violated.

Fisher is scheduled for a case review in Laclede County court on Dec. 12 at 9 a.m.
