Sturgeon Chief Financial Officer resigns
Sturgeon’s Chief Financial Officer William “Bill” Dellinger resigned Monday afternoon.
In his resignation letter, Dellinger said, “I will not be stating a reason for my withdrawal, so that rumors have no beginning.”
Dellinger went on to write that his resignation was not because of anyone’s wrongdoing.
Monday night, the Board of Alderman said the city’s accounting had been caught up through September, but October still needed to be completed.
“We at the City have dealt with major turnover in the past year and are working to get caught up to where we should be,” said Alderman Tyler Patterson.
“We had a new Financial Officer (Dellinger) that started the first of September and was working on finishing up the financial statements to get us up to date. Unfortunately he resigned today forcing us to find someone to now replace him.”
The board also said interviews have already started with candidates to replace the part-time position.
“We will be accepting applications until December seventh, and hopefully find a qualified candidate that can get us back on track. We will find a company to proceed with payroll to continue daily functions and to make sure all of our employees are taken care of,” said Alderman Patterson.
