Arrest made in Boone County armed robbery
UPDATE (11/27): Lynn Brewer III was arrested Saturday on suspicion of distributing, manufacturing, possessing a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and armed criminal action.
A sergeant at the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said Brewer went to the home in the 500 block of Waldo Court to sell a tablet in exchange for drugs early Saturday.
The sergeant said some sort of argument took place, Brewer fired one shot and fled the scene before deputies arrived. No one was hurt.
Brewer was found in possession of a 9mm handgun at the time of his arrest.
He’s currently being held in the Boone County Jail on a $30,000 bail.
ORIGINAL (11/26): Boone County deputies are investigating a possible armed robbery that happened early Saturday morning.
Around 4 a.m., deputies told ABC 17 News crews the victim was selling a tablet in the 500 block of Waldo Court when the attempted robbery happened. Deputies believe a weapon was involved but no one was physically hurt.
At 6:30 a.m., investigators were on scene of the 500 block of Waldo Ct. issuing a search warrant. They said it is connected to the earlier reported robbery.
Deputies do not have any suspect or possible vehicle description to release at this time.
Deputies said the victim and the robbers were not known to each other.
The sergeant told ABC 17 News they are still early in their investigation and need to continue speaking with different witnesses and parties involved before they can release more information.
