Freeze Warning Friday Night
Temperatures overnight will fall from 30-32 for spots north of I-70. A Freeze Warning will be valid for Chariton, Macon, and Randolph counties from 12AM-9AM where sensitive vegetation and crops can be damaged and killed. While Boone County is not under a Freeze Warning tonight, calm winds will help temperatures drop in low elevation in Mid-Missouri such as the Ozarks. We likely won’t have another Frost Advisory as we are ending the growing season, while frost will be likely overnight.
For those wanting to enjoy the mums, marigolds, and zinnias for a few more weeks, protect vegetation tonight and Saturday night. Next week overnight lows will become more mild for mid November in the mid 40s! The best way to protect plants is to cover with a cardboard box right before sunset. The card board will act as insolation from the solar radiation from the day. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
