Extra Supermoon Less than 2 weeks away

On the evening of November 14th, yet another supermoon will occur. A supermoon occurs it seems every other month. The moon will be in perigee- where it’s at the closest point to earth. This supermoon however, is going to appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter. This will be the closets supermoon in nearly 70 years, with 1948 being the last time the moon appeared this large. This is impart to syzygyy. This is when the sun, moon, and earth align. On November 14, these will align, and the moon will be in perigee making for an illuminated night! That’s if skies remain clear.

The next time the moon will be in Perigee-syzzygy is 2034! Cheers to hoping to clear skies on Tuesday November 14th. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
