Downed lines creating traffic hazard in west Boone County
UPDATE 7:20 a.m.: A Highway patrolman working the incident tells our crews that a man drove into the down lines and the lines got caught up in the hood of his car.
ORIGINAL STORY: Boone County Emergency Management is asking drivers to avoid a road right now due to some downed lines.
Boone County EMA sent an alert out just before 6:00 Thursday morning.
It says lines are down at Highway UU near Route O.
ABC 17 News is hearing reports that part of the road is closed and that Boone Electric Cooperative is responding to the scene.
Our crews are heading to the area right now and are working to find out what caused the hazard. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
