Storms Wednesday; isolated severe storms possible

A cold front will slowly move south through Mid-Missouri Wednesday afternoon and evening, sending a line of showers and t-storms through the region. Showers are possible along and north of HWY 24 in the morning out ahead of the cold front. As the front moves south, storms will become more widespread north of I-70 after 2 PM, moving south through early evening.

There is a Marginal Severe Threat in areas west of HWY 63 and south of I-70 in the afternoon through early evening where modest wind shear and instability exist. Isolated storms with strong wind gusts up to 60 mph and small hail are possible in this area.

Storms will move south of I-70 through the evening and to I-44 through the early morning hours of Thursday before ending. Rainfall amounts up to an inch are possible north of I-70 with lower amounts of a quarter inch expected closer to I-44.
