Charges dropped against Columbia shooting suspect

Charges were dropped Monday against a man accused in a Columbia shooting back in April.

According to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, Johnathan Nicole Banks, 23, of Columbia, was a suspected of shooting at another car on April 26 at the Highway 63/Interstate 70 connector.

A man and a woman were not shot, but the man received a face injury and the woman hurt her leg.

Last week, two other men involved in the shooting pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Joseph Alexander Luckett, 22, and La’Juan Mariquis Martin, 22, both of Columbia, pleaded guilty on Oct. 24 to resisting arrest for the April shooting.

Martin is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m at the Boone County Courthouse.

Luckett’s sentencing is set for Dec. 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Boone County Courthouse.
