Man wanted in September shooting on Newton Drive arrested

Public arrest records indicate authorities have arrested a man wanted in connection with a September shooting on Newton Drive in north Columbia.

The records show Boone County deputies arrested Majikwon Morales Monday and show he remained in the Boone County jail Tuesday.

The arrest comes after Morales was charged for allegedly shooting at his neighbor back in September.

Morales is charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of weapons.

The charges stem from a shooting authorities responded to back in September in the 2000 block of Newton Drive.

Two witnesses apparently saw Morales and another man arguing back and forth while the man was at his mailbox.

Morales then allegedly shot at the man and went inside his own home.

Officers say they tried to find Morales at the residence, but were not able to find and arrest him

Currently, Morales is held on a $75,000 bond.

ABC17 is reaching out to the sheriffs department for further information about the arrest.
