Alumni, students and faculty return to MU for Homecoming weekend

University of Missouri alumni are coming home to Columbia this weekend for MU’s 2016 Homecoming celebration.

The annual event brings thousands of students, alumni, faculty, community members and others to Columbia.

Drivers can expect to see some extra traffic in town and likely along I-70 this weekend. You can also expect some temporary road closures downtown and near MU campus due to the celebration.

Group participating in Homecoming have decorated several businesses in downtown Columbia and some are already displaying decorative boards throughout campus.

The Tigers are taking on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders this weekend.

We’ve attached to this article maps of roads that will be impacted during Campus Decorations and the Parade.

Here’s a look at the schedule of events for the weekend:

Friday:

11:30 a.m. – Mizzou Homecoming Hall of Fame Luncheon, Reynolds Alumni Center

6-9 p.m. – Campus Decorations, Greektown

8:30 p.m. – Spirit Rally, Traditions Plaza

7:30 p.m. – Step Show, Jesse Auditorium

Saturday:

9 a.m. – Parade, Campus and Downtown Columbia

3 p.m. – Football Game, Memorial Stadium
